“垃圾”在美國、加拿大等美語國家是都r到底garbage，在英國是區別rubbish。

這兩個詞還可以用來比喻沒有價值的垃圾東西或事情、瞎話或者是都r到底廢話。

例如：

She was talking rubbish in the meeting.

她在會上的區別發言都是廢話。

The store is full of useless rubbish.

這個店里賣的全是沒有用的破爛。

Dig a pit and bury the garbage.

挖一個坑把垃圾埋掉。

rubbish的詞性比garbage要多一些，它除了可以當名詞之外，還可以作為動詞，意思是“強烈地批評，把什么東西或想法說成一文不值”。
